Baharieh Rouhani Ma’ani
“Three Most Consequential Women in `Abdu’l-Baha’s Life”

Baharieh Rouhani Maani is from the lineage of early responders to the Cause of the Bab and Baha’u’llah in Nayriz. She was born and raised in Shiraz, studied Persian literature at the University of Shiraz before settling in Kenya as a Baha’i pioneer in December 1960. In December 1971 she was invited to serve on the staff of the Baha’i World Centre, which lasted about thirty-eight years. She relocated to Washington, DC in August 2009. She is a researcher, translator, and author. She has published books in English, the latest is Leaves of the Twin Divine Trees – An in-depth Study of the Lives of Women Closely Related to the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh. She has also published numerous articles in English and Farsi on the status of women in religion and other topics.
